ABSTRACT
How far have Austrian communities come with the implementation of Local Agenda 21? To what extent have the basic aims of Chapter 28 of Agenda 21 been realised at the local level of governance? How far has the Austrian Government proceeded with dissemination of information about the issue and support for starting the process of LA21 in the communities? On the basis of country reports of Austria from 1994,1995 and 1996, we can derive the following preliminary conclusions.
