ABSTRACT

This book is written for primary teachers, head teachers and trainee teachers who are unfamiliar with the world of educational research and would like to know more. It is hoped that it will encourage more practitioners to become everyday users of research as well as assisting those who are interested in conducting their own classroom studies. It aims to make useful links between research and primary classroom practice by examining focus studies for each area of the primary curriculum, including drama, RE, special needs and education management. It does not seek to provide comprehensive reviews of subject areas, but aims to demonstrate how practitioners might develop their thinking and classroom practice in response to research findings about specific aspects relating to each subject area. These translations of findings into practice are exemplified through photocopiable link resource sheets, one for each chapter, offering practical ideas and activities that have been designed in response to the research described.
