ABSTRACT

The chapter discusses the Mathematics on-line. Increasingly school administration matters, and particularly liaison with Local Education Authorities and its agencies, are being streamlined through the use of e-mail and the World Wide Web; and it would not be difficult to make out a case for the necessity of Internet access for all teachers, to provide resources, to enable them to keep abreast of new initiatives, and to plan for effective teaching. The Literacy and Numeracy Strategies curriculum policy initiatives that have coincided with the National Grid for Learning. There are some very good websites with numeracy-related content, which can be used one way or another to enhance learning and teaching in the daily mathematics lesson. It would be a futile exercise to list all known sites, as there are many of them, serving slightly different purposes, and the list is added to rapidly and changed frequently. Many of the best sites include extensive links to other sites.
