ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to describe the creation and evolution of Parent Partnership Services, contextualise the broader scene of parental involvement in special needs and in education, introduce the book and describe its purpose and contents. The narrative will include reference to a number of theoretical and ideological issues, which are expanded upon by chapter authors.
