ABSTRACT
Sophie's Daddy is an able seaman on a freighter in the Far East. For the year that he's away, Sophie writes to him, telling him about life at home with her Mummy and younger brother. The text and the illustrations track the seasonal changes and the difference between Sophie's and Daddy's days, and at the same time explore what it's like for Sophie to be separated from her Daddy.
