ABSTRACT

Travelling in overcrowded island by road is becoming progressively more difficult, both in terms of increasing travel times and less predictability. Pfizers transport strategy is tackling the delivery of green travel by providing mechanisms to encourage all staff to move up in the transport hierarchy of: walking; public transport; cycling; carshare; motorcycling and single occupancy vehicle. An important part of any transport or green travel plan is to ensure that everything works together and attitudes are changed. Community leaders in business and in the public sector need to embrace the necessary approach to travel, live it in their own organisations and explain it to their workforce. Tangible benefits for those adopting greener lifestyles need to be provided to employees, the general public, and from government or local government to organisations that are adopting a greener approach.
