ABSTRACT
This book has highlighted the importance of innovation in urban management at the local level, and demonstrated the important role civil society can, and must, play in urban development, globally and locally. At the outset, the importance of urban management to nothing less than the future of the planet was stressed – given that, by the middle of this century, almost three quarters of the world’s population will live in cities.
