ABSTRACT
Recently, several papers have been published on the automatic acquisition from corpora of PP-disambiguation methods (Basili et al. 1991, 1993a; Boggess et al. 1991; Grishman & Sterling 1992; Hindle & Rooth 1991, 1993; Jelinek et al. 1990; Resnik & Hearst 1993; Sekine et al. 1992). Though differences in the algorithms proposed may suggest arguments for a qualitative comparison, the definition of formal evaluation criteria is still a matter of discussion and criticism.
