Institutional Religion and the Children of Asian Immigrants

By the late 1930s, the descendants of Asian immigrants had adopted religious attitudes which diverged from, and at times were in tension with, the outlook of older generations. The survey extracted below assumes a framework of Americanization based upon the English language and Christianity. It indicates interesting variations amongst the younger generations in the relation of identity to religious attitude.
