ABSTRACT

The paper presents results of theoretical consideration of applying Cold Temperature Ground Store for heating purposes in a single family house in Poland. Considering a possible application of the heating system using ground as a heat source in a small scale it is necessary to perform at the beginning some planning steps. First a review study of proposed place of location of the ground system taking into account land availability, geological and hydrological data, and an overview of expected load and design of the building ought to be done. Then the preliminary selection of the ground store type and configuration can be made. However to obtain the proper design of the system more detailed analysis is required. The analysis of thermal processes and performance of the CT (Cold Temperature) ground store coupled with a heat pump is evaluated to point out when such system can be an option in Polish heating systems in a small scale. The main aim of the analysis is to determine the conditions in which the considered system is able to operate in a monovalent mode and next to evaluate some recommendations for designing the CT ground store system in Poland.
