ABSTRACT
The core of this chapter is concerned with the different financing mechanisms applied to SAPV, together with their strengths and weaknesses. Other financial aspects, such as the end-user’s contributions, operation and maintenance costs and opportunities for cost reduction, are also discussed. Although most of the material is presented in the context of developing countries, the conclusions and methodology have general validity.
