ABSTRACT
The use of daylight as the prime light source is once again being recognised as a valuable means of improving energy efficiency of non-residential buildings, and daylight is now generally considered to be the preferred light source. Architectural daylight principles are receiving increased attention, and new daylight enhancement systems are being developed to improve the distribution of daylight in the interior, to reduce the need for electric lighting by daylight, while improving lighting environments.
