ABSTRACT

This paper submits the design of a Centralised PV System to be installed in a building in Ghana, with the aim of promoting a large rural electrification project carried out in the country. The system, located at the Ministry of Mines and Energy Building, is devoted to allow continuos working of the Ministry staff, while frequent shut downs of the mains grid occur. In order to maximise the use of the solar energy, a Hybrid Stand Alone/Grid Connected system fed by a single PV generator has been designed.
