Stand-Alone and Island Applications of Photovoltaic Power Systems: Task III the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme

Task III of the IEA PVPS Programme began a new five year Work Plan in 1999. The focus of the work is on Quality issues of stand-alone PV, hybrid systems, storage methods, and load management. A selection of Case Studies will be chosen by each of the participating countries, which will serve to highlight the work of Task III, and also to provide field data for study. Task III is co-operating with Task IX and Task II on common areas of study. This paper presents the new Work Plan and summarises progress to date.
