ABSTRACT

In the framework of a project follow up led by Transénergie, dealing with the installation and the assessment of the operation of four hybrid photovoltaic-diesel systems in four villages in Indonesia islands, this paper describes the different tests and studies which has been conducted as a technical evaluation after one year of operation. This follow up is supported by E.C. Thermie B, French ADEME and the companies involved. Three aspects have been covered by this assessment: a technical approach aiming at validating the state of the system one year after the commissioning stage and validating innovative aspects of the system (battery management, data satellite transmission, pre payment system), a sociological survey that can be used to evaluate the social impact of such a programme in order to better understand the expectations of the users and to try to anticipate in the future their new requests and an economical approach to set up a specific exploitation scheme in order to guaranty the durability and viability of the installation in the villages.
