ABSTRACT

10 years ago this 100 kWp PV-Plant, built on top an existing sound-barrier structure along the A13 motorway in the Swiss Alps, went into operation. At the time this project was unique, as it was the first PV-plant along a motorway worldwide and the largest PV-plant in Switzerland. Also unique is the fact the plant performed extremely well over the whole period. Monitoring is still carried out and detailed information about the technical operation is available. The plant produces on average 108'000 kWh net energy per annum at a specific annual yield of 1 '035 kWh/kWp. This paper will focus on the operational experience over the past 10 years with information on: Performance - Availability - Reliability - Component failure - Influence of dirt - Maintenance - Non-technical issues
