ABSTRACT

The software package SolSim has been developed for simulating renewable hybrid energy systems. These systems can consist of units converting all sorts of renewable energy into electric energy. At this stage of development SolSim provides the following components: PV generator, wind energy converter, battery, DC/DC converter, DC/AC inverter (used for grid coupling), biogas/biomass combined heat power station and engine generator. Furthermore there are modules allowing an economic analysis and optimisation of the tilt angle of a solar generator. The software program SolSim is used not only for designing energy systems but also for developing strategies of energy management within those systems to satisfy the technical as well as the economical demands.
