ABSTRACT
A ‘flat-plate’ solar collector is an energy conversion device that absorbs solar radiation and transfers the energy to a working fluid passing through the collector. A flat-plate collector does not concentrate incident energy before absorption, hence, it is able to collect both direct and diffuse components of radiation. Flat-plate collectors are used primarily for air and water heating.
