ABSTRACT

A partial recovery of haematopoiesis in irradiated area was observed at dose levels of 40 Gy but it was concluded that extra medullary haematopoiesis and distal extension in the long bones may play a significant role in maintaining haematological equilibrium particularly after the late development of bone marrow damage. A new technique consisting of continuous intraarterial infusion of the ultra short-lived Kr for the study of the blood flow in patients with severe peripheral vascular disease is described. Preliminary promising results of Ketamserin, a new selective serotonin antagonist, in patients with impending gangrene and ulcerations are discussed. In the presence of complete obstruction, whereas the tube was not visualised after peritoneal injection, it was outlined by direct injection of 2 miCi of Tc-99 m albumin microspheres into its subcutaneous tract, where it crossed the 12th rib, immediately above the valve.
