ABSTRACT

Dial-a-Ride is a special transport service using specially adapted passenger-carrying minibuses for carrying people with disabilities, Dial-a-Ride is currently funded from the Government, but that income is in the form of a grant which is administered by London Regional Transport -the organisation which controls London’s bus and underground train services. This paper also mentions the Greater London Council (now disbanded) who were a second tier London Government structure, responsible for much of London’s administrative control. Also mentioned is the London Dial-a-Ride Users Association which is an independent organisation whose function is to represent the user’s wishes for accessible transport in London.
