ABSTRACT
The device was designed to automatically bring an empty wheelchair inside a vehicle and conversely, to bring it out when required. The wheelchair operator needs to have upper limbs mobility since it is required for moving from wheelchair to vehicle seat and back and also, obviously for operation of the device and the vehicle. However, no particular strength or physical ability is required to operate the device. The device is made-up of two basic parts: the first one allows the sliding of the vehicle door to the rear and the second one picks up and brings the wheelchair inside the vehicle and conversely, brings it out again when required. The device can be used by most disabled people with upper limbs mobility. The device can be adapted to most cars, even smaller ones, and can take care of most wheelchairs with only minor modifications.
