ABSTRACT
This chapter describes a study which investigated the processing of musical and verbal information in normal and mentally ill subjects by comparing short-term musical memory with short-term verbal memory. It aims to shed light on two quite separate areas of research, first of all the cerebral localisation of schizophrenia and secondly, Baddeley's model of working memory.
