ABSTRACT

At the school that this project was first developed in all students were familiar with the database programme KEY (One of a range of databases used in U.K. schools). It therefore made sense for the History department to build upon this familiarity as developed in other curriculum areas by the students. Whilst there might be 'better' databases, adopting KEY meant that little time needed to be spent teaching students how to use the programme. Also the programme was sufficiently powerful to meet our requirements.
