ABSTRACT
When situations seem impossibly complex, it sometimes helps to back off and take an overview. Often there are common denominators that link together components. If so, then it will pay to assess the whole rather than try to deal with all the pieces or issues as if they were separate entities. I believe we can make a good case for the proposition that the “predicament of humankind” as we approach the 21st century cries out for such a holistic approach.
