ABSTRACT
Doubts as to the use of coercion are heard ever more frequently these days, both on the campuses and from less sheltered platforms. Some of these are perfectly understandable. The application of force to control men never can be regarded as very desirable in itself, especially by the more humanitarian and democratic citizens of a liberal democracy.
