ABSTRACT
Throughout the 1630s Archbishop Laud, supported by the king, increasingly imposed Arminianism upon the Church. Unyielding in his determination to succeed, Laud never flinched from using the power of the courts both to enforce his religious policies and to express his own wrath against those who would oppose him.
