ABSTRACT

About three thousand tropical-forest people known as the Yekuana (Ye’kuana, Yecuana) inhabit portions of the Amazon Territory of southern Venezuela. These portions include the regions of the headwaters of the Ventuari, Cuntinamo, Padamo, and Cunucunuma rivers and the state of Bolívar, around the Caura, Erebato, and Paraguya rivers and their tributaries.
