ABSTRACT
The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, a double-island nation of more than one million people, is a culturally diverse society. In 1990, its populations were recorded as about 40 percent East Indian, 40 percent African, 19 percent mixed, and 1 percent white. Its major religions are Roman Catholic, Hindu, Spiritual Baptist, Orisa (Sango), Anglican, and Muslim.
