ABSTRACT
This chapter is devoted to examining the third of the three major themes discovered at the participating schools: Relationship building among the teachers with one another and among teachers with students was highly valued. The following four areas are explored in this chapter related to this theme: a strong and well-defined sense of purpose among mathematics faculty, faculty that collaborates and supports each other, a focus on student disposition toward mathematics, and teachers that understand and care for their students.
