ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the factors that contributed to the successful link between a university and a high school and provides ideas for how other schools can collaborate with institutes of higher education. These partnerships are not without their challenges, however, and they are also raised in this chapter. In addition, the chapter looks at practices related to including English language learners (ELLs) in themed academies and factors that contribute to their success as they relate to the link between the high school and the university.
