ABSTRACT
This article argues from a green perspective that criminology has failed adequately to address either the environment or masculinities. It explores elements of ‘car culture’ such as ‘joyriding’ and ‘road rage’ as well as protests against road-building and the car. Using methods drawn from cultural studies and Sumner’s concept of censure, it seeks a more holistic criminology and crime policy.
