ABSTRACT
This chapter considers the viability of the CAFE OF EVE concept as a research approach as well as conducting longitudinal investigations into human supervisory control. Neither of these approaches have been undertaken to the extent proposed here and certainly neither have been combined in this way before. Thus, this approach aims to advance our understanding of both issues simultaneously. Firstly, it offers an investigation of a research methodology. Secondly, it aims to determine fundamental aspects of human supervisory control through longitudinal study.
