ABSTRACT

In order to improve the dialogue between complex systems and their users, it is necessary to have a better understanding of the situation in which the activity is taking place. This requires the availability of analytical methods that can effectively reflect key dimensions of the activity such as the complexity of situations, the man/machine interactions and competition between events. We propose a methodological approach based on collecting the dynamic elements of the activity, to which operators must adapt.

The object of our method (MEDA) is an improved interface with the flight management system (FMS). It is intended to ascertain the dynamics of the activity and their influence on the use of the interface.
