This Railway System comprises 2,462 route-miles of 3-ft. 6-in. Gauge Line, is owned by Six Companies, and runs through Five Distinct Territories, Following a recent inquiry, negotiations between Delegates of the Governments of Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and Bechuanaland, and the Owners of the Railways, resulted in Parallel Legislation being passed in the Three Territories, to enable a Railway Commission to be set up to exercise Control of Rates.
