ABSTRACT
By examining liberation philosophers in Latin America, Silva argues that the pursuit of liberation is a defining feature of Latin American philosophy. More specifically, he argues that one important difference between Latin American and European or Anglo-American philosophy is that whereas the latter argues from a position of freedom, the former philosophizes for the sake of freedom.
