Kashiabagan home was the meeting point of Sarala Devi relations—near and distant. Almost everyone from Jorasanko visited them regularly. Rajani was friendlier to Didi. His marriage with Sunayani, a younger sister of Gagan-dada, was fixed when he was still a student. After his marriage Rajani made his home with his in-laws, and that was the end of Sarala's contact with him. A new family was introduced to Kashiabagan— that of Ashu Chaudhury and his brothers. Sarala's pen flourished and she started writing critical essays on Sanskrit poetic literature. Sarala's mother escorted her to Sitara where mejo-mama was then stationed, from where she travelled to Mysore escorted by mejo-mama. He had no inhibition concerning women working for a living, since he was in favour of social reform in all spheres. Kumudini Khastagir the Assistant Superintendent of the Mysore Girls' School to resign her job for personal reasons. Sarala was appointed as the Lady Superintendent was a new turn in her life.
