ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines the development of the Swansea Service Evaluation Inventory – Women’s Projects (SSEI-W). The SSEI-W is an instrument that aims to integrate evidence of effective practice. It seeks to develop and support practices that reduce reoffending by adhering to the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) principles derived from ‘what works’ endeavours, whilst attending to specific gender-responsive pathways into (and out of) women’s criminalization, and supporting women’s desistance from offending through their social reintegration.
