ABSTRACT
This chapter attempts to analyse the application of R2P (relief to people) in the context of some case studies from Haiti earthquake, Asian tsunami, Myanmar Nargis Cyclone and Pakistan floods to come out with certain suggestions for an effective disaster management relief mechanism. The author emphasizes that the recommendations given by the United Nations had been one of the revolutionary concepts (R2P) at the World Summit in 2005 yet unachievable so far.
