ABSTRACT
Management of invasive animal populations often involves lethal control, which raises concerns about animal welfare and the ethics of killing animals. Other issues include human responsibility to resolve anthropogenic impacts, the pain and suffering inflicted by the invasive animals on other animals, and the broader consequences for species and ecosystems. In this chapter, we outline philosophical dimensions of invasive animal management, followed by a discussion of ethical perspectives and issues around managing invasive animals.
