ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of Turkey’s entertainment industry and the media landscape of a country that is considered as one of the emerging nations that produce and export content. I discuss the factors that affect Turkey’s television content which is the leading source of Turkey’s presence in world entertainment. By offering a description of Turkey’s entertainment industry and its interconnectedness with politics, I argue that the future success of Turkey as an emerging actor in world entertainment will be dependent on its political climate.
