ABSTRACT
In this chapter, a philosophy of mixing, the tools of the trade and mixing techniques are discussed. Topics include critical listening, session preparation, monitoring, metering, target levels, signal flow, panning, equalization, dynamics, balancing and mastering. The stereo and immersive mixing techniques discussed in this chapter can be applied to sound design, film sound, installation, theater, multimedia and music projects.
