ABSTRACT
Recently, the city of St. Petersburg in Russia has been covered in colourful sex work advertisements right on its streets’ pavements. Departing from the more usual analysis of the city landscape, in this chapter, I am investigating how this has been made possible given the existence of strict criminal law on prostitution. I analyse spatial justice as power relations which shape the city. In doing so, I uncover how the police facilitates sex for sale only to ensure police control over sexual economy.
