Corporate Moral Responsibility and the Expectation of Autonomy

In this chapter, I elaborate the theory of collective moral responsibility as joint moral responsibility (JMR). Roughly speaking, other things being equal, participants in a morally significant joint action are collectively morally responsible for that action, i.e. they are jointly morally responsible for it. Moreover, I extend the reach of JMR beyond morally significant small-scale joint actions to large-scale ones, to some central categories of morally significant omissions to perform joint actions, and also to some central categories of morally significant institutional actions involving chains of institutional responsibility, i.e. to chains of moral responsibility.
