ABSTRACT
Magazine journalists are closely involved in the design that will present their stories to the world, whether on paper or digitally. Understanding what an art editor or graphic designer is trying to achieve is helpful in creating a more powerful experience for the reader and this is also beneficial for the journalist. In addition, an appreciation of design and the ability to use layout software like Adobe InDesign are valuable qualities for staff writer and indie publisher alike.
