Current research suggests that LGBTIQ athletes and coaches have been harassed, stigmatized, and at times, physically abused because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Although these instances of mistreatment are reported and researched, discussion of LGBTIQ administrators is almost nonexistent with few studies that address the voices and experiences of LGBTIQ administrators in sport. This chapter begins with the limited research on LGBTIQ administrators and includes current issues surrounding LGBTIQ administrators. The second half focuses on how to use cultural studies, specifically queer theory, to make sport more inclusive.
