ABSTRACT
There were three black women in authors’ delegation. When they walked together in the streets, Germans stared, pointed, laughed, touched them and took their picture. They went to the campus of Karl Marx University to talk to African students (mostly male), some of the only non-German people in this totally homogeneous country. The line is, "Equality for women is a reality in the German Democratic Republic (GDR)." This is bullshit. Women in the GDR share the same economic and social problems as women in capitalist countries. In addition to their lack of economic power, East German women are victimized by an all-encompassing pro-natalism. After World War II, 70 percent of the German population was female. The official theory on homosexuality is that it is caused by maldevelopment in the embryonic stage when one's gender endorphines develop like those of the opposite gender.
