ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the arrangement for enforcement of judgments between Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. Pursuant to the Mainland Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance (Cap. 597), for Chinese judgments to be enforced by the court in Hong Kong, there must be an exclusive jurisdiction clause granting exclusive jurisdiction to 6 Hong Kong court in the first place. This chapter will describe this mechanism and proceed to assess the effectiveness thereof.
