ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to the continued evolution of technology inspires entrepreneurs to think differently in order to drive positive change in the world. TOMS started in my Venice apartment with a simple idea, a lot of passion, and a solid mission–to use business to improve lives. The chapter describes the next generation of social entrepreneurs to keep that passion and focus. There have been plenty of challenges as TOMS has grown over the years. The why of TOMS has been and always will be about using business to improve lives. TOMS started as a business to help create a better and encourages one's tribe to be a part of the movement. TOMS has inspired many other companies to incorporate giving into their business model. Technology really helped us share one's story with our tribe, who then turned into the best form of marketing by posting on social media.
