ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the most fundamental component of African culture, language. Cultural Helix Theory will be employed to examine the cultural merit of the paradigms in question. If culture and spirituality go hand in hand in the African mind, then the cultural structure of the paradigms is of critical importance. Helicoidal Reciprocal Continuum is the rhythm of Nummo and Nummo is present in whatever space African people occupy, regardless of the condition. Traditionally African psychologists in America have rejected the psychological approaches of Western psychology, much like there has been a general rejection of European ideals of the Christ and the liberation of humanity within black theological traditions. Additionally, socioeconomic dimensions of class and income, with categories of sexual preference and physical ability, layer the complexity of Black women's experiences. This complex mixture generates particular faith responses and requires creative responses to daily life.
