ABSTRACT

David B. Sachsman holds the George R. West, Jr., Chair of Excellence in Communication and Public Affairs at the rank of professor. Dr. Sachsman is known for his research and scholarly activities in environmental communication and environmental risk reporting and for the three editions of Media: An Introductory Analysis of American Mass Communications. In 2005 Dr. Sachsman headed the team appointed to evaluate the United States (US) Agency for International Development's environmental education and communication efforts in more than thirty countries across twelve years. David W. Bulla is an associate professor of journalism at Zayed University's College of Communication and Media Sciences. Bulla focuses his research on the history of journalism, examining limitations on press performance. In 2006, he was coauthor of a paper that received the top faculty award for the Scholastic Journalism Division of the Association for Education in Journalism (AEJMC) conference in San Francisco.
